Yes.Honestly, I've only played a couple hours of Max Payne 3, and never played (but have watched) Far Cry 3. Far Cry 3 looks like it'd have better gameplay, but Max Payne 3 has a better story, I think.

Jason Brody isn't a very likable protagonist, that's for sure, that's why I hated the majority of the story in Far Cry 3.I'd recommend Far Cry 3 for open-world, hunting action, and a moderate story. Vaas really amps up the otherwise bland story of the game, and really saves the game as a whole on that level.
Max Payne 3 is super fun, has good multiplayer, and a pretty amazing story.I'm a biased opinion, but Max Payne 3 seems like the best choice.
