A band from my hometown, Highland Lakes, NJ! For those who don't know (and there's no reason you should), Highland Lakes is way up north in the rural part of the state, near the cow country of Orange county, New York. It lies on top of one of the Appalachian mountains that overlooks Sussex county, and specifically, Vernon, NJ.

It's incredibly beautiful but very boring to grow up there, but as I was a teenage thrashing death metal fanatic, I was thrilled to find a great band like Deathrash hailing from my very town! The band never signed a record deal, although this demo got enough attention for the band to have 'Buried Alive' appear on New Renaissance records SPEED METAL HELL II sampler, and the tape itself is a well recorded slice of traditional thrash metal in the Metallica/Slayer vein of things. With good dynamics, and raw but clear sound, it seemed this demo might launch the band onto greater career heights, but sadly it was not to be. A great blast from the extreme metal past. By the way, Whiplash/Slayer drummer Tony Scaglione spent some time in the band's ranks, and bassist Pat Burns also became a member of Whiplash. Deathrash is another Thrash band among all these who were active for a short time in the 80's. Before they disbanded they released only one demo with 3 tracks.

Not enough to judge well a band, but it seems like they were a decent band who knows how to kick some asses. The production, as for a first demo, is average. There is a static noise all over the demo and the instruments sounds dusty a bit but it isn't too much annoying. You can hear almost clearly all the riffs, the drums sounds ok, the bass doesn't sensed at all and the vocals sounds pretty good but not outstanding in any way. The last song however suffering from a horrible sound. The drums too much loud and when it played together with the guitar and vocals the sound crushing all the time. What we got here is a short headbanging experience.

Nonstop riffing which keeps a Thrashing rhythm without any break for breath or resting your neck. The songs doesn't sounds much different from each other but the demo doesn't lasts for too long so it won't make you bored. The lead guitar sounds fine, not too much intense or brilliance but it works good.So if you are a die hard fan of Thrash you can try this demo. Not something unusual or groundbreaking or even important much but it's a good one which works fine and doesn't sucks except the production.

.The vocalist, Hisayoshi, is a ghoul of a thrash screamer. Much of his work on here is sort of raw clean-shouting, but more than not he’ll let loose some unrefined yells and screams that drive this album into death / thrash (fitting for the album title). Blessed Violence (Live ‘86) 16. Blood For Blood (Live ‘86). Deathrash Thrash Beyond Death RatesBlood Feast's Kill for Pleasure is without a doubt a very aggressive and chaotic record that never fails to satisfy the listener. I've played it countless times without ever growing bored of frequent exposure. The most obvious appeal on this record is the speed of the songs, and the sheer intensity of the riffing in combination with pounding drums.

It never falls short on a single song, as they all possess a similar thrash attack sound with insane vocal delivery. Furthermore, the title of the record alone is what adds to the madness in that killing for pleasure is substantially different than killing another person out of self defense. Killing for pleasure is insane and that's exactly what the band accomplished on their sound, total insanity meant for thrash metal fanatics. There's a significant difference between bands that have a more thrash metal infused death metal sound and bands that simply play death metal or thrash metal.A good example of this could be recognized with the American death metal band Possessed, in that they started out as a death metal band on Seven Churches, and then evolved into more of a death / thrash metal band on Beyond the Gates.

With Blood Feast, however, they're more thrash metal than anything. They're certainly a form of thrash metal that goes beyond in terms of vocals, in league with bands such as Exodus without as much commercial acclaim. Blood Feast had returned after an extended absence with an album in recent years, but it fell short of what was delivered on Kill for Pleasure.I'd like to point out that I would never go as far as to criticize a band for continuing to play, as it brings band mates together and demonstrates how their passion for music is still alive. This album is given more praise than what it is worth.

The album is not completely terrible, it is just very, very boring. Nothing on this album is exactly fun, interesting, or memorable.

It was an album that showed me that not every thrash metal release of the 1980's is excellent. It is a lot of wasted potential, that could have been much better than it turned out to be. Deathrash Thrash Beyond Death RarestThe album starts off with the first track. The track is devoid of any creative value. The second track is the only track on this album that is passable.

Deathrash Thrash Beyond Death Rare Star

Deathrash Thrash Beyond Death WikipediaIt has an okay riff (once the song starts up), but it builds upon nothing. The rest of the album is like the first track (but the album gets more banal as it progresses), and the album has no long term effect on me. The instrumentation on this record is average at best. The guitars produce one solitary okay riff on the entire album. The guitars also sound like absolute shit.
