Installing the d2x IOS for use with USB LoaderCustom IOSes such as d2x augment the way the Wii accesses data. For instance, in order to access a hard drive instead of the disc, an IOS is needed to convert the function calls. D2x replaces the now obsolete. For more information about custom IOSes, see the page. The prime reason you want to install d2x is for the IOS reload blocking. This makes virtually all games compatible with later versions of.

Metroid Prime Trilogy was the most popular of these games that didn't work before but does now. READ THIS FIRSTd2x can actually be inserted into many slots and we are going to make use of that. There are also different versions of d2x that can be installed into any of the slots and these versions are determined by the base IOS used. For maximum compatibility and ease of updating, this tutorial now gives you the following setup:Slot 248 - Base 56 - Compatibility with most games and slightly faster read timing. Definitely use this for games with microphones and Wii Speak.Slot 247 - Base 57 - Compatibility with many games.

Definitely use this with Call of Duty: Black Ops.Note that the 249 slot is not actually used in our installation. This is the most common slot you will see in other tutorials (and it used to be used in this tutorial).

However, if installed there, discs with 4.2 and 4.3 updates will still ask you to update, even if you are already there. Installing to the alternate slots means you can still play your discs without them messing up your USB Loading setup!Using these slots means that you must also do the meta.xml steps of the instructions.Feel free to experiment with other slots and bases. They won't hurt your Wii and you can reinstall any base over any slot at any time.

VWii translates to Virtual Wii which is the Wii U's built in Wii. It is very moddable, and the methods we use today have changed a little bit! It's much more painless than what it used to be from a couple of years ago, and I've written this section to make it as easy as possible. WuphaxThe first thing we have to do is get the Homebrew Channel onto the vWii. Wuphax is the simplest tool to do that with, but we have to run it through the Wii U first.

Just to be clear, this will not work if you're running on redNAND. NOTE: If you have taken the time to setup your SD card as instructed by the, then you can skip to Step 4Step 1) Download the latestStep 2) Make a folder in the following directory on your SD card:. SD:wiiuappsName it 'wuphax' or whatever you want it to be called.

Put the 'wuphax.elf' you downloaded in the last step in this new folder you just made. Now your SD card should look like this:. SD:wiiuappswuphaxwuphax.elfStep 3) Download the latest.

Take the ' boot.elf' from the ' hackmiiinstallerv1.2' folder and place it into the root of your SD card.Step 4) Put the SD card into the SD Card slot in your Wii UStep 5) Turn on your Wii U, and get to the Homebrew Launcher using your preferred method, and launch 'wuphax'.Step 6) When your options appear, press ' A' to backup your Mii Channel and inject the Hackmii Installer.Step 7) It will kick you back into the Homebrew Launcher. Get back to the Wii U system Menu.Step 8) Boot up the vWii.Step 9) Launch the Mii ChannelStep 10) It will boot the Hackmii Installer.

You'll see a screen talking about how you were scammed if you payed for this. Eventually you'll see a 'Press 1 to Continue' pop up. (It might take a little bit). Press 1 when that pops up.Step 11) Go through the prompts to get the Homebrew Channel installed.

SD:nand.bin. SD:keys.binIOS One-by-One Dumping (Optional)I have to be honest, this is something that I personally haven't done. This step is only to backup files to recover from a semi-brick, which I'm not expecting to happen. Though to be safe, I've listed what Truth wrote about on the subject here. Maybe I'm not the one who should be saying this because of my opinion on the matter but. Better to be safe than sorry!Step 1) Download YetAnotherBlueDumpMod fromStep 2) Copy the files to your SD card sd:/apps/YetAnotherBlueDumpMod and launch the app from the Homebrew Channel.Step 3) Go to System Titles and dump each IOS individually to a wad. When prompted to fakesign the ticket or TMD, say No to both.cIOS Installation. This process assumes you have already downloaded and extracted from the of this vWii guide. You need to make sure that there are no folders called 'wads' or 'wad' in the root directory of the SD card.
